Summary of the 360° Approach.
This 360° approach builds on three key facets.
1.0: A core development team drives the project. It integrates key resources in the organisation. Resources may be 100% dedicated to a specific project or may give less than 1 hour per week.
2.0: Stakeholders are typically a senior management team that oversees and directs a number of programmes from a strategic viewpoint.
3.0; The product pipeline incorporates all the developing and existing products and services. Each product phase is defined, reviewed and funded from product concept through to end of life.
Measuring the Success of a 360° Approach
To gauge any improvements, we must be able to measure. The 360° approach to product and service development targets three goals for improvement; Profitability, Visibility and Quality.
Profit from shortened development cycles and increased ‘right-first-time’ developments.
Visibility is a two way improvement. Senior Management gains a greater insight into current and planned developments. The development teams gain insight into management expectations as well as the expectations of customers and other teams within the organisation.
